I'm considering make a sub board for CP/M Turbo 7 card.

There are some types could be made.....

Sound card

-It would be a good one but, we have mocking board and it is no worthy to make..

too much similar one.

RAM card

-RAM card would be good one for Z80 but, I'm wonder that what application or software could use it.

If not MSX card, it isn't useful...

PIO card

-I personally like to play PIO.. ON/OFF LED.. looks good. 

ON relay and turn ON some of electric device would interesting..

But, it is easy for me... not interesting to me..

Video card

-Video card would be very interesting one. but, it isn't easy for driving...

Sprite card would be used to emulate some of old computer...

And it it possible to use by APPLE ][ not only Z80 board..

Video card would be a good board for CP/M Turbo7.

Ok, Go for a VDP board.

It would be a interesting project and could be used for sprite on APPLE II.

Here is draft board.

I have to order PCB for this..

New SD DISK II Emulator, SD DISK][ plus emulator is going to finish.

It is final testing board and working fine.

What is differences,

SD DISK][ Emulator is first my board for DISK II replacement and HDD emulation with SD card.

This new version is SD DISK ][ Plus , Optimized circuits and have wide compatibility.

Works good on APPLE ][,][+,//e, IIgs (Except APPLE I and APPLE IIc/IIc+(no Slot))

It emulate two 32MB HDD or two 5.25" FDD.

Hi friends,

It took long time to have new version of firmware.

This version having new features as under.

1) It supports Read Only function. Read Only Floppy with FDD image file. 

To do this, you need to set as Read Only (*) on your image file then It works as write protected on FDD.

Each FDD works as followed the FDD image R/W status.

it works only *.NIB file.

Please test it and let me know your feed back. :)

2) Support image file Write protect by Dial

Long press EXIT will toggle loaded image R/W <> R/O

3) *.PO FDD image file support. *.PO image file have prodos sector order on sector. it has different sector order compare to *.DSK file. I didn't test it much.. just checked it can read and can run with my file.

It would be an another SD DISK Emulator.

Used an ARM 32bits processor and CPLD.

I will show what is different compare to previous one.

It would be very interesting project for me.

This is new SD DISK II Emulator plus testing version.

I'm testing it on  APPLE IIe in that time

Emulate as two HDD with unlimited HDD image replace capability.

Emulate as tow FDD (DISKII) with unlimited HDD image replace capability.

Used Angled connector for LCD Dial controller.

Change seldom using serial pins to upper location.

Still ready for Bluetooth serial dongle.

Tested on APPLE ][+ FDD emulation works

Tested on APPLE //e HDD and FDD emulation works

Tested on APPLE IIGS HDD and FDD emulation works

It works but, It has slight different compare to 5V CPLD version.

Stability little different not very good on my testing.

It rarely error about 1% while reading.

I will try to make it as perfect as previous testing version.

Hi friends,

This is new version of SD DISK II Emulator for APPLE2 computer.

This version changed components and optimized for less soldering error.

The total chips counts are lessen for less complication. (I really hard to make previous version)

ROM changed to another type (PLCC) and it would safer even send it by the POST.

Other small chips optimized into CPLD so, simpler and less time consume to make it.

LED changed to surface type; it looks better.

Connector for Dial was changed angle; it wouldn't interfere to other neighbor board in slot.

BIOS Switch Omitted; Automatic ON and OFF.

It works on

APPLE ][ & APPLE ][ plus (previous version had FDD write issue but, It works good now)

APPLE II (APPLE 2e normal version)

APPLE //e (APPLE 2e enhanced and platinum)

APPLE IIGS

No configuration or mode changed required for all APPLE II 

Just Insert it in slot#6 and connect dial controller..

Then Turn it ON and select your favorite DISK image file for your favor.

It would be announced on eBay about 3 weeks later.

Previous version owner still can use newer firmware without change.

I will work for it.

SD MIDI Plus card had MIDI INPUT technical issue, 

If you purchased it before 24th Jan 2017, Your card may have MIDI IN issue with some of sequencer.  

(It doesn't have problem on playing Music on Ultima V)

In fact, it may avoid MIDI input error if you make a sequencer but, I recently acquire sequencer sofware the Master Tracks, It didn't work with it.

I've updated firmware and works fine.

Hi friends,

I'm testing SD MIDI][+ final board.

In this time, I applied DC filter and OPAMP buffer for clean sound.

Now it works very good.

I'm testing other functions and will start to sell for local fans.

I've recorded two songs. Please listen it :)

And, This song recorded from PC MIDI to APPLE IIe & SD MIDI][+ card.

You can remember this song if you were really game mania in 386 era.. :D

SD MIDI ][ Plus card is going to complete.

This MIDI card is compatible to The Passport hence, You can play it on Ultima 5 and some other.

Now, I'm adding new features in this MIDI card.

1) You can insert MIDI Sound Module

If you install the MIDI Sound Module, It would work as Perfect MIDI Sound Card. Not just MIDI interface. 

2) It has MIDI Bridge mode 

It would act as an extra MIDI Sound Module. You can connect MIDI cable and it would generate Sound.

3) It would have few I/O ports.

I'm preparing 4 I/O Ports to ON/OFF (TTL Level).

I've tested the 2) Bridge mode

MIDI from PC to APPLE 2 and played on MIDI Sound Module.

Maybe, I could start to sell this SD MIDI][ Plus card from end of Nov.

I will let post here and eBay when It started.

I received PCB and soldered components.

This SD MIDI][+ card would have below functions.

MIDI IN/OUT: Passport MIDI card compatible.

MIDI Sound Module support

MIDI IN-> Play (Sound module required): will work as a MIDI sound module.

AUX Output Pins for special device.

I need to make firmware for it.

After some fixing bugs, I will order final board and then we could have good MIDI card for APPLE II.

I've ordered PCB for SD MIDI][+ card.

It is similar as previous one but, as you expected on my products It added useful features,

1) It allow additional sound module, so MIDI card could be called as sound card.

2) It allow to MIDI IN Sound play ; It means that you can connect MIDI cable to MIDI IN of this SD MIDI][+ card, then It play sound as the external MIDI module.

I hope to like this MIDI card and those features on your APPLE ][.

I could show when I received the new PCB then could say some more for you.

It is two types of CP/M OS.

CPM 2.23 for 60KB free memory

CPM60K.nib

CPAM 60K V5.1.1

cpam51a.nib

You can test it on your CPM card.

FDD should located on Slot#6.

CPM card works on Slot#1, Slot#2, Slost#4, Slot#5, Slot#7(Tested on APPLE //e platinum)

Hi friends,

Today, I've tested Mockingboard 4c(socket type) on APPLE //e.

To do it, I removed 65C02 CPU and pull flat cable to the Mockingboard 4c.

It was little complicated and I had to use Proto type not selling one.

Anyway, I could hear sound of mockingboard as it is on Slot#4.

This purpose is for the testing for APPLE //c plus and Laser128 system which couldn't have Mockingboard on Slot#4.

Those type of APPLE II can't use Mockingboard 4c but some of fans, wants to use it on their //c plus and Laser128.

Due to some of internal structure are not the same as APPLE //c, I couldn't say would work on there.

and I have to test it on //c and Laser128.

Now, I'm sure my design worked on just APPLE //e. :)

SD MIDI card is developing with new features.

Now, I added a MIDI sound module in it.

and named as SD MIDI+.

This MIDI Sound module was suggested by Mr. Jonas and I really thanks for this information.

Music instruments are selected random anyway user can change it.

And I really wish to someone make good 'MIDI player' to play lots of *.MID files by APPLE II.

Today, I built a MIDI card for APPLE II.

It is one of my wish item and successfully develop as the Passport compatible.

So, now I can play the Ultima V with Passport MIDI output.

I don't have real passport card so, I had to research with the passport driving program and refer the manual.

It tested on APPLE IIe and also need to test it for APPLE ][+ and IIGS.

It have MIDI IN and MIDI Out as general use.

I will announce again when It ready for sale.

I recorded one of good song.

I used a PC with USB MIDI cable and connected to this MIDI card.

CP/M Turbo7

Dear friends,

Z80 turbo7 card is ready.

This card is compatible as MS Softcard hence, it runs MBASIC, GBASIC(It is my favorite Language). 

Z80 CPU speed could selected Normal or Fast mode.

Normal mode is same speed of MS Soft card and Fast mode make Z80 run to 7Mhz.

But, unfortunately even 7Mhz running Z80 but, APPLE II BUS can't give data to make satisfy for Z80, so the results is overall speed is about 1.6times faster then Normal Z80 card.

It is the Maximum speed which can run as MS Softcard compatible card.

I want it to run under APPLE IIGS for many of users who want to CP/M with APPLE IIGS.

It can run with Fast mode of APPLE IIGS. but CP/M card runs properly only on the 'Normal position'

It has 40pins AUX port for who like to make DIY board under Z80 CPU signals.

I hope to see any daughter board using the AUX port.

I used PLCC type CPLD who want to solder to pull some signal from CPLD for DIYer's board.

Original MS Softcard doesn't care the Signal for IO but, I added to care for the Z80 IORQ.

Hence, you can add your IO board and could control by Z80 ASM IO commands.

Hope to like this feature.

It is selling now for Korean fans first after this I will put some on eBay for international APPLE II fans.

Other English information will be followed after I put on eBay.

It doesn't work on APPLE ][ nor ][+. (I'm trying to make it run on ][ and ][+)

(** Now it start to work on APPLE ][+ and IIe non enhanced model but ][+ only work with Normal speed)

It runs on APPLE IIe enhanced, APPLE //e platinum and APPLE IIGS (With limitation).

APPLE IIe non enhanced model have to change the CPU to 65C02.
