It has been internally patched as under.

But, If you don't use an LCD dial, you don't have differences.

What was updated

Patched on Making new Blank DISK image creating (Name selection was limited but now up to 99 disks)

Simplified internal routine for less firmware size. (It would help for further reserved function)

How to update

1) Copy the file on your SD memory card in Root location.

2) Please update by '*' on the Boot Menu.

3) After finished, Please check if the firmware version changed on the Boot menu.

4) Reboot your APPLE II and use it.

** Notice for firmware V2.76x **

From this version, the FDD reading method was changed and some of *.NIB files may read at a slow speed.

In this case, It needs to convert the DISK SKEW of the NIB image file.

To solve this slow speed issue, Simply copy the image to self by COPY ][ PLUS.

It will help to read at a good speed.

Firmware for SD DISK][ Plus has been newly updated.

Now, Also working well on the Lemmings game program.

In this version, internal improvements have been made to better support the DISK COPY program.
Below marked OK DISK COPY programs work well.

The above programs are disk-related utilities that are mainly used.

You can easily make a NIB file created after copying it, to archive or distribute it on the Internet.

However, the negative symptom was found

Some NIB images read very slowly.

it comes due to different virtual DISK spinning.

In this case,

Use a DISK Copy Program(such as 'COPY ][ PLUS 5.1' ) and copy the DISK to self. 
In other words, Overwrite the Image by copy to DISK B --> DISK B 

How to update firmware!
Put the this SDBIOS.ROM file in the root of the SD memory,
Then proceed with the firmware update on boot menu.

Dear customers,

SD DISK ][ Plus firmware upgraded to V2.74p

- Applied New dial type
New dial only has 1/2 click and users need to change the type of dial.

How to change dial type;
'Press Dial + Power ON APPLE II'
If you hear a beep on APPLE II then release it.

It will change 1/1 type <--> 1/2 type

- And other minor changes applied.

My friend found a nice WIFI SD Module as above.

With this Device, User can access SD memory card data on a WIFI Drive connection as the below.

So Copy, Move, Modify and create folders are all easy to manage files on SD memory card.

I think that it is the easiest way to access the SD memory chip via WIFI.

SD DISKII Plus emulate two FDD or two HDD and It has a good Menu drived image selector.

On HDD emulation, SD DISKII Plus work as block devices and supprt two 32MB HDD emulation.
It doesn't accept smartport function call internally.

I have some reports about non working HDD image(800k).
And I found that those are using smartport MLI without checked the type of device.

Boot ROM already indicated as a non smartport device but, Smartport call happed on some program without check type of device and failed to access on some HDD images.

Anyway, I decided to support Smartport call on SD DISKII Plus.
I'm learning for smartport fuction calls.

It have to both on ROMBIOS and Firmware on SD DISKII Plus.
It would take some time please wait for new BIOS.

Unfortunatelly, It might to be updated ROM chip.
It require a ROM writer to update with new code.

New ROMBIOS and firmware would be annouced when It finished.

What will be change?
1) Smartcall program(image) will work properly.
2) More HDD drives can use now it has two HDD but, more atleast 4.
3) More block size accepted max 8G.

* No change on 5.25" FDD emulation

This is a SD DISK][ File uploaing utility by Mr. SaTang Gune.

It can  upload a file to SD DISKII.

Tested USB Serial dongle just be care for COMx.

Then it will upload the file to SD DISKII.

This version of firmware  fixed some bugs on FDD mode.
Please update your SD DISK][plus with this firmware.
 
What's changed in this firmware is,
 
1) Fixed an error what some images could not start up well at once during FDD booting.
 
2) NODSK??.NIB that automatically creates when formatting without selecting a disk and  now this temporary file automatically inserted during Power ON Boot. 
If I have multiple temporary files, I had a little difficulties to find which was that.

But now, It is more convenient for FDD work for copying a real DISKETTE to image file.

3) Write FDD and then rebooting soon, It desn't updated the image file.
Now it fixed and correctly update the FDD(*.NIB) image file.

As I mentioned it before, I built a test version for the SWAP FDD function.

It is simple to use and easy to make.

Please prepare a button Switch with dupone female wire.

You can find similar or better one on eBay.

How to use.

After start APPLE II and after booting process...

You can use this SWAP function.

Press once it will swap present D1: D2 each other and press once again, it will return D1: D2: as before.

Some of users having difficulties to use the USB Serial dongle on Windows 10.

The maker said, it isn't compatible but, I found the solution to make it run.

Now, You can use it on windows 10.

Please delete old version of Driver and install it.

How to do it

1) Delete presnt (If have) USB Serial driver on windows 10. 

2) Download and install it.

You can also find detail information by googleing.

I tested and it works on my Windows 10 (32bit version)!

SD DISK II PLUS support Power ON menu and Now it also works on Re-Boot.

The new firmware has a function to call the Boot menu by program or ROM BIOS.

It required new ROM BIOS V1.85 for Re-Boot menu

if not, it will act the same as previous firmware and need a Menu ON program.

With New ROM BIOS(V1.85), 

It always shows the menu entry message while on Boot.

It would be useful to some users who are using several SD DISK II plus.

How to update?

Pls copy it to SD Memory card and use the Boot menu. There is a firmware update function.

SD DISKII Plus firmware (V2.72) 

It works only for SD DISKII Plus (Pls don't update it on other SD DISK II card)

You need this ROM BIOS Version 1.85 for this Re-Boot menu.

You need a ROM Writer to write your ROM chip in SD DISKII Plus.

Before to erase ROM, Pls read and save the old code just in case.

ROM BIOS (V1.85A)  (please mail me for BIN file)

FDD image with Menu boot file.

It is a menu ON program. [B]

it works even no ROM BIOS updates.

It works DOS3.3 and PRODOS FDD/HDD.

Pls copy the file to another FDD image and use ciderpress for copy your DISK image.

Some bugs fixed and little changed.

- Eject function by 'C' 'D' bug fixed

Some cases fail to Empty D1 or D2 and now fixed. (Anyway, It is seldom used)

- Failed to show the last file and now Fixed.

- During the firmware updates, it shows a message and doing a nice restart.

Testing is going to finish.

Please let me know if you experienced any errors or have suggestions.

This version properly works FDD mode on APPLE IIGS(Fast).

<Enhanced>

Speed up on Reading file LIST. 

More than 256 files reading was slow but, much faster now.

I did test it with 1,530 files and took 4.8Sec to read on APPLE //e and ][+, (IIGS Fastmode is faster).

<Image List Sort>

Menu program showing as followed this image group (no naming sort).

1) Volume/Directories first

2) HDD images(HDV or 2MG or PO no internal sort)

3) FDD images (NIB or DSK no internal sort) 

Firmware tested on APPLE ][+, //e, IIGS ROM1

Tested card version; SD DISK][ plus V2.49A, V2.5A, and V2.46.

<Restriction>

* HDD disk D1 and D2, It should be in the same directory.

* FDD disk file D1 and D2 could be different but, reading only.

  If it needs to write, It should be in the same directory.

  Power ON Boot will search image file for D1 and D2 in a Boot Directory.

  But, If you load a FDD file in the menu, you can use but, only Read purpose. Because the Write process will search in the directory update the file.   (These restrictions is due to the MPU RAM size)

This version patched below.

If you just changed the mode without select any file, it causes boot failure.

In this case, SD Disk][ will use as a Boot image from the previously selected one.

Changed

(1) When it updates the file list, it shows 'Updating..' on the file list window.

(2) When FDD image loading, Menu waited until to finish but now it doesn't wait but show 'updating..' on drive name and it will be updated when it finished the loading. 

And if more commands to the SD DISK II before to complete, it will wait until finished.

(3) FDD D1 & D2 images will load while Power ON Boot.ing.  Some games need two diskettes and it would work without select 2nd image again.

I just updated the firmware of SD DISK][ plus card.

It works on APPLE ][+, //e and IIgs.

And file limit increase to 1,535 files.

So in one directory file can show up to 1,535 files.

maybe it's enough but, If user requests for no limit..? then I will consider next time.

Directory file list taking a few seconds if files are many.

Changed

- Fixed Garbage letters on File List.

- Show Firmware Version

- SD Memory card hot-swap and press [ESC] two times then you can have a new file list on the SD memory card.

- File LIST speed much faster than the previous version.

- More file indicator '+' shows such as the Elevator. it shows, there are some more files.

- '~' font doesn't Inverse. (There is no INVERSE font of '~' on APPLE II)

To Enter the menu,

Press 'S' key while Power ON your APPLE II.

Known Issue

FDD menu boot fails on APPLE IIgs. You need to PR#6 or Reset the SD DISK II on LCD DIal.

I'm investigating it.

How to update the firmware? (Please refer the manual)

Copy the firmware on root in SD Memory card.

Power ON and Press EXIT + SELECT Button then release it. 

It will check the system and update it to the new firmware.

Dear friends and customers,

From V2.7x, It enhanced HDD speed and fixed some bugs for APPLE IIgs (GSOS will boot properly).

(1) HDD R/W routine applied ASM routine and faster and HDD access speed +23%.

     Internal Cache enhanced, R/W cache works better and faster.

(2) FDD loading speed slightly faster.

(3) APPLE IIgs HDD access faster

(4) New BIOS ROM(chip type) V1.84 support. (HDD Speed up; +20%); for this, you need to order new ROM chip or ROM re-write by ROM Writer (please ask me the ROM code).

This V2.70c version fixed some issues on APPLE IIgs.

The boot menu properly works on APPLE IIgs(Tested ROM1).

This program required above 65C02 CPU hence, old APPLE ][ or ][+ doesn't work.

In my case, I replace CPU 65c02 on APPLE][+ and results. Working.. :)

Anyway APPLE //e enhanced and platinum works.

I will update the firmware code for 6502 CPU for APPLE ][,][+ and non-enhanced APPLE //e.

And We have changed some compare to V2.70b.

1) You can see this message if the menu can start (Only Power ON boot can see it)

'[S] SETUP MENU FOR SD DISK]['  

2) Menu program recognizes PO image if it is for HDD or FDD.

So users can select PO image to HDD or FDD.

3) [Q] QUIT support

Why does it need?

If you need to write FDD or HDD image, It required the file in the current directory.

But, if you move to another location, it can't update the image file when it write so the writing would fail.

[Q]uit selection will just Exit the menu and stay current directory and data write could be updated into the given file.

4) FDD D2: support power ON pre-loading.

I removed it because of FDD loading takes time to start booting. but, for your convenience, It supports from this version.

* Known issues

(1)Occasionally, On file list, it shows garbages. I'm checking why it happens.

(2)Fast speed mode on APPLE IIgs, The FDD boot may fail. You may need to reboot manually.

Normal speed mode doesn't have this issue. I'm working to solve it.

*Others

Test version support up to 40 files only (included directory).

This version tested on SD DISK][ plus card (Earlier version not yet tested).

Any issues or strange things, please let me know to change or fix it.

I'm glad to announce this new firmware of SD DISK II plus emulator card.

This version of firmware is designed for easy to handle image files for SD DISK II plus emulator.

Please download the attached file and perform the firmware updates on your SD DISK II plus.

- Simple way to Update

1) Download and Copy the SDBIOS.ROM file into SD memory card Root directory.
2) Keep press EXIT and DIAL button and Power ON your APPLE IIe
3) Wait until to finish
4) Then Power OFF your APPLE IIe

I didn't test it on SD DISK][ emulator(earlier version) yet.
This Power ON menu works on APPLE //e with 65C02 CPU system. Other 6502 CPU APPLE II may not work.

Power ON your APPLE II and for the Menu, Press 'S' (it will wait for 1 sec)

Then you can see the menu screen.

Refer the * HELP * for the hot key.
* Pressing Left [APPLE] and <- -> / UP Down will work as Page UP/Down

- This version is a testing version.
- Files and Directory can show 40 files only in this version.
